Behind the name

Our Story

Why I offer CreatorKits.com through PremiumBrands, and how my experience with Newswire.com shapes my approach to building.

PremiumBrands.com is where I offer selected domains to people who want to build a business around a strong name. CreatorKits.com belongs in that collection because it points to something a customer can understand. I want these presentations to give a prospective buyer enough context to decide whether a name deserves a closer look, while leaving room for a founder to bring a different idea to it.

My experience with Newswire.com

I acquired i-Newswire.com in 2007 and upgraded the business to Newswire.com in 2015. Newswire.com gave the business a short, pronounceable name closely connected to its category. That progression is part of why I take the choice of a domain seriously when thinking about an online business.

The business I helped build was acquired by Issuer Direct in 2022 for $44 million. That was the sale of the business, including its operations. I share that history because it explains where my interest in premium domains comes from.

Why I care about the name

A founder makes a lot of decisions before anyone sees a finished product. Choosing a name is one of the decisions that will keep showing up: in introductions, in search results, in a customer’s inbox and on the website itself. I believe it deserves attention early enough to help shape what gets built.

For me, a good name has to make sense for the business someone actually wants to run. A familiar word can be appealing, but the connection to the customer still matters. With CreatorKits.com, that connection is direct enough to start a useful discussion. A buyer can start with the people they want to serve and what those people need. There is room to develop that view without having to explain an unrelated name first.

Why AI interests me

I believe AI makes it more accessible to explore an online business. A founder can put together an early website, work through a software idea or compare different ways of explaining an offer. That makes it easier to move from a thought to something another person can see and respond to.

What interests me most is the chance to improve an idea while it is still small. A first version can expose a question that a written plan leaves vague. What does the customer do first? Which part needs explaining? Is the offer specific enough to understand? Those are useful things to learn before committing to a much larger build.

More access to building tools also makes judgment important. I still want to understand who something is for, why they would care and what needs checking before it is put in front of customers. AI can help with the work. The founder still has to choose a direction and decide whether the result is good enough.

What I want PremiumBrands to offer

I want someone considering a domain to have more to go on than a name in a list. A thoughtful presentation can show its character, suggest a few directions and make the acquisition conversation easier to begin. The buyer should be able to form their own opinion about it.

That is the purpose of the business ideas here. They give a name some context rather than prescribe the company that must be built on it. For CreatorKits.com, I see an understandable connection to people doing creative work. A future owner may see a narrower audience or a use I have not considered. I welcome that. The founder who takes a business forward needs to make it their own.

OnlineBusiness.com is the strategy and development studio supporting this broader work. PremiumBrands.com is where the selected domains are offered and where the acquisition conversation begins. I want that relationship to be straightforward for a buyer, with a clear understanding of who they are speaking with.

Start a conversation

If CreatorKits.com fits something you are considering, tell me about it. A short explanation of the direction you have in mind is a useful place to start. You can also read The Opportunity for the name’s possible fit and the domain acquisition details. My interest is in helping a strong name find its next owner, then seeing what that person chooses to build.
